Your Vegetarian Valentine's Day Menu
Valentine's Day may be cheesy, but I think its grate. It's a fun reminder to tell your loved one how much you care about them. It doesn't have to be over-the-top, expensive or outlandish. For me, food is definitely the key to my heart, and a well-cooked intimate dinner at home can be the most delightful (and delicious) way to celebrate the day.
If you're looking for a simple yet special menu for Valentine's Day this year, give our easy-to-prepare, romance-inspired feast a whirl, and let the sparks fly!
A huge thank you to some of my favourite home cooks and food bloggers for these simple and delicious recipes.
Entree
Classic Caprese Salad from Love & Lemons
The Italians know romance. Slice up the tomatoes, let the mozzarella ooze and the only thing left, is to say that 'I olive (oil) you'!
Main
Hearty Spaghetti with Lentils and Marinara Sauce from Cookie and Kate
Get your Lady and the Tramp on with this delicious spaghetti main course. Bursting with freshness from juicy tomatoes and packed with the satisfying heartiness of lentils, this pasta dish will have them tortellini in love.
Tip, make some extra sauce and store it in reusuable containers for an easy mid-week dinner sorted.
Dessert
Chocolate dipped strawberries from Beaming Baker
Cliched but a classic. Chocolate covered strawberries are the sweetest and most indulgent way to cap off your feast. With this simple showstopper, sit back and let the aphrodisiac do its thing!
