Looking after your Silicone Kitchenware

You've invested in some eco-friendly silicone kitchenware for your home - go you!

Silicone is great addition to any kitchen, being washable, reusable and plastic-free (meaning no harmful chemicals are entering your food). If you haven't already made the switch to silicone, read a quick overview on why silicone deserves top spot in your kitchen here.

To help you get the most out of your silicone products, see below some easy tips on caring and looking after your silicone kitchenware.

How to Clean Silicone

1. For light stains, soak your Silicone Zip Lock Bags or Silicone Food Lids in hot soapy water.

2. For medium stains, make a paste of baking soda and rub on to stained areas. Once it has dried, wash off with hot, soapy water.

3. For tougher stains, add a quarter cup of white vinegar and a quarter cup of lemon juice, mix with hot water and fill the bag with the mixture (or soak your silicone product in the mixture, in a covered bowl) and leave overnight. This will remove any tough stains or lingering smells.

How to Dry Silicone

Simply pop your open silicone bag or lid upside down over a glass so it can air dry.

Avoid using harsh scrubs or brushes that can scratch and damage your silicone products. Our Bamboo Dish Brushes are a gentle alternative to rough scrubs and will help your silicone products stay in better condition for longer.
